Who we are
MAVI is booking and salon-management software. Each salon that uses MAVI is an independent business and the controller of its own client data; MAVI processes that data on the salon's behalf to provide the service.
What we collect
- Contact details you give when booking or creating an account: name, phone number, email.
- Your appointments, service history, notes and preferences at the salon you book with.
- Payment confirmations. Card details are entered on our payment providers' own secure pages (Square and Stripe) — we never see or store your full card number.
- Basic technical data (IP address, device/browser) needed to run the site securely and prevent abuse.
- For salons using the medical/aesthetic module: health information you provide on intake forms and consents, kept under stricter access controls and retained as required by law.
How we use it
To book and manage your appointments, take deposits and payments, send you booking and reminder messages, answer your questions in chat, and keep the service secure. We do not sell your personal information.
Messages
If you book or contact a salon, you may receive SMS or email about your appointment (booking confirmations, reminders, changes). Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of reminders by replying STOP or telling the salon; transactional messages about a booking you made may still be sent.
Sharing
We share data only with service providers that make the app work — payment processors (Square, Stripe), messaging providers, and hosting — under agreements that limit them to those purposes. We may disclose information if required by law.
Your choices
You can ask the salon to view, correct, or delete your information, or to stop marketing messages. Some records (such as payment and, where applicable, medical records) must be kept for a period required by law even after a deletion request.
Security
Traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). Payments run on PCI-compliant hosted pages. Access to salon data is restricted to the salon's authorized staff. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to fix issues quickly.
